A Hybrid Particle-Mesh Method for Viscous, Incompressible, Multiphase Flows

چکیده
A hybrid method to simulate unsteady multiphase flows is described. One phase is represented by moving particles and the other phase is defined on stationary mesh. The flow field is discretized by a conservative finite volume approximation on the stationary mesh, and the interface is automatically captured by the distribution of particles moving through the stationary mesh. The effects of surface tension and wall adhesion are evaluated by the Continuum Surface Force (CSF) model. The method simplifies the calculation of interface interaction, enables accurate modeling of twoand three-dimensional multiphase flows.

External and Internal Incompressible Viscous Flows Computation using Taylor Series Expansion and Least Square based Lattice Boltzmann Method
The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has recently become an alternative and promising computational fluid dynamics approach for simulating complex fluid flows. Despite its enormous success in many practical applications, the standard LBM is restricted to the lattice uniformity in the physical space. This is the main drawback of the standard LBM for flow problems with complex geometry. Several app...

A preconditioned five-equation two-phase model coupled with an interface sharpening technique is introduced for simulation of a wide range of multiphase flows with both high and low Mach regimes. Harten-Lax-van Leer-Contact (HLLC) Riemann solver is implemented for solving the discretized equations while tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing (THINC) interface sharpening method is applied ...
متن کاملRecent Progress on the Development of a Particle Method for Incompressible Single- and Multi- Phase Flow Computation
The use of particle method in solving the Navier-Stokes equation is attractive from the viewpoint of avoiding the explicit discretization of the nonlinear convection term adopted in the commonly used Eulerian approach. In this paper, we shall report on the progress of our recently developed particle method in solving the Navier-Stokes equation. Starting from the conventional Moving Particle Sem...
